Irish Mission Youth Summer Camp 2023

Irish Mission Youth Summer Camp 2023

This year’s summer camp exceeded all of our expectations. Youth have experienced an emotional and spiritual journey. After we thought it could not get any better, more than 15 young people came forward and asked to give their hearts to Jesus. Casiana Stan and Kiril Klemanskas requested to be baptized and we ended Summer Camp with 2 beautiful baptisms by the lake at Portlick Scout Campsite by Pastor Jeff Melki. Throughout the week, youth spent their days interacting and socialising during activities such as kayaking, crate stacking, water sliding, ziplining, archery tag, singing at the bonfire together and taking a Viking boat trip down in Athlone while also participating in go-karting and mini golf.

It was amazing to have Mikael Takamaa and his wife Emilija Takamma join us at summer camp this year. Mikael blessed our youth with testimonies and stories that impacted the youth in such a beautiful way. Emilija showed so much care and kindness towards our youth. All the staff were blessed to be able to spend time with the youth and enjoyed every moment that we shared together. We shared lovely meals together, worship, games and prayer time together which brought us all closer together.

We are looking forward to summer camp 2024 and cannot wait to see all the youth again in our next youth event this year. Thank you to Pastor Jeff who organised every detail and supported all the staff and youth and made sure camp was the highlight of our youth's year.

A special thanks to Andile Hlongwane, Godwin Amponsah, Jazmin Andrasi, Sharon Melki, Emma Rothwell, Victoria Afolayan, Heather Keogh, Lorraine Rothwell, Caroline O’Brien, Kevin O’Brien, Shannon O’Brien, Joel Lewis, Shirley Stephenson, Rob Lindsay, Jeffrey Owusu, Kelvin Atuti and Alfridi Mulihano.

A big thank you to the Irish Mission Pastors for their prayers and thank you to the parents who brought their children to participate.

See you next year!
