North Belfast Church Plant Holds First Worship Service
Since the challenges of Covid, Belfast Church has experienced remarkable growth, more than doubling its congregation. What once seemed unthinkable, running out of space in our generously sized building, became a joyful reality, as our Sabbath mornings began to overflow with worshippers. From hosting IM Day of Fellowship with ease, we found ourselves bursting at the seams, each session bustling with energy and enthusiasm.
With this blessing of a larger church family came practical challenges, such as limited parking and a lack of seating during services, which at times hindered the worship experience. Ever committed to nurturing a welcoming and meaningful environment, the church board explored possible solutions. Pastor Todd initiated a survey to gauge the congregation's views, and sentiment soon revealed that many felt it was time to branch out and grow further.

As a result, an inaugural meeting was held for those passionate about launching a church plant. Prayerful planning ensued, with the Belfast church placing its hopes and dreams for this new venture firmly in God's hands. After nearly a year of earnest preparation, momentum gathered as the New Year arrived, igniting fervent action toward holding our first service before the end of the first quarter of 2026.
Although January brought no immediate answers regarding a venue, the church pressed forward in faith, organising a service regardless. February delivered a breakthrough: prayers were answered and agreement was secured to worship in the Church of Ireland halls at St Paul and St Barnabas on York Street. Our first gathering was truly heartwarming, with around 60 adults and 30 children coming together in praise and prayer, filling the halls with the spirit of unity and hope.

Pastor Todd Frias inspired us with a sermon entitled "The Value of the Church Plant", focusing on the five P's: Prayer, Preach, Proclaim, Practice, and Participate. These pillars guide us as we embark on this new journey, encouraging us to serve, engage, and grow together as a community.
While St Paul's and St Barnabas Church currently serves as our temporary home, we continue to pray for a permanent space. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for God's guidance and the steadfast commitment of our members.

As we look forward to the journey ahead, we ask for prayers for continued dedication and growth, inspired by Acts 2:42: "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." May we remain faithful, united, and vibrant as we write this new chapter together.
