Navan Church Plant Holds First Camp-In Weekend Despite Stormy Weather

From 3-5 October, the Navan Church Plant held its first-ever Acampadentro—a weekend “camp-in” filled with prayer, worship, and Christian fellowship. The program unfolded during one of Ireland’s stormiest weekends, marked by heavy rain, strong winds, and flooded roads. Yet, every member and visitor arrived safely, determined not to let the weather hinder their commitment to worship.

The theme of the weekend centred on relationships—both with God and with one another. Guest speaker Pastor Diogo Santos shared thoughtful and heartfelt messages throughout the event, emphasising that “the vertical relationship defines the horizontal.” His reflections encouraged participants to consider how communion with God naturally overflows into patience, empathy, and genuine love for people.

Moments of collective prayer, intercession, and personal testimonies touched the hearts of many. A highlight of the program was the celebration of the Holy Communion, which brought a profound sense of unity and reverence. As members gathered to remember Christ’s sacrifice, the atmosphere was peaceful and reflective. While the storm raged outside, a deep sense of calm filled the sanctuary—a reminder that true peace comes from faith.

The weekend also featured group activities designed to strengthen fellowship and reinforce the importance of staying united as a church family. Through games, discussions, and shared experiences, members reflected on the idea that being part of the church is more than attending services; it is walking together, supporting one another, and building meaningful connections in Christ. As one participant remarked, “It felt like we were camping with the Holy Spirit.”

A joyful moment came when the congregation celebrated Roseanne Robert’s birthday. After a long period of medical treatment, her recovery became a testimony of God’s care and faithfulness. “We didn’t just celebrate her birthday,” one member shared, “we celebrated her life and victory in Jesus.”

Despite the severe weather, the "Acampadentro" was filled with joy, peace, and the warmth of Christian fellowship. The experience reminded everyone that faith does not remove life’s storms, but it teaches us to trust the One who walks with us through them.

Encouraged by the success of this first edition, Navan Church Plant is already planning the next "Acampadentro", hoping it will become a cherished tradition—a time to grow in faith, strengthen friendships, and experience the beauty of being united in Christ.
