Mallow Congregation Celebrates First Anniversary
It was indeed a high day in the Mallow community as believers gathered to celebrate a significant milestone—the first anniversary, or “birthday,” of the Mallow congregation. The special theme for the day's celebration was “Grateful for God’s Faithfulness, Looking Forward in Faith.”
What began as a thought and a prayer became a reality on 13 September 2025. One year later, the believers gathered once again to praise and celebrate the goodness and faithfulness of God through singing, reflections, and testimonies.
Sabbath School provided an opportunity to reflect on the various milestones achieved by the Mallow congregation since its inception. The journey was creatively illustrated through the analogy of a pregnant mother eagerly awaiting the birth of her child, highlighting the anticipation, preparation, growth, and joy that accompany new beginnings.
The highlight of the day was a dynamic and timely message delivered by the Irish Mission Executive Secretary, Pastor Ben Pontanar. His message, based on Matthew 9:36–38 and entitled “The Harvest Is Plentiful,” was especially appropriate for the occasion.
Pastor Ben challenged the congregation to move beyond simply asking, “Who will go?” Instead, he encouraged everyone to pray for the Lord to send forth reapers and, more importantly, to be willing to become those reapers themselves. He also emphasized the three key pillars of the Irish Mission for this quinquennium: Rooted in Christ, Connected in Love, Sent in Mission.
The message served as a call for every believer to remember that we are rooted and grounded in Christ. Because Christ loves us and we love Him, we are called to respond to His love through obedience and mission.
The celebration concluded with a joyful time of fellowship, interaction, and thanksgiving. As believers shared together, the sentiment could be heard throughout the community: “Indeed, God is amazing!”
The Mallow congregation looks back with gratitude for what God has done, while confidently looking forward in faith to what He will yet accomplish.
