Light in the Dark: A Biblical Approach to Halloween with Resources for Parents and Teachers
This program emerged from the need to offer children, schools, churches and families literature associated with the theme of death that would lead us to better evaluate the celebration of Halloween. In a creative way, with a foundation on the Bible, we can reflect on this observance of pagan origin that has been adopted by Christian culture for a number of years.
This is a simple program that can be rolled out in several ways, such as:
At home, during family worship or at a family gathering;
In the neighbourhood and in children's events within the community; In schools, during general events or in classes;
At church: At the beginning of the worship service;
Through a special time-slot dedicated to children; At a children's conference held as a full-day event;
In any case, it is necessary to have appropriate planning and the involvement of a team who will carefully execute the program so learning can happen effectively.
The project features a theme song and allows flexibility for a roll out using other available resources to fulfil the intent of the program. It is important to note that audiovisual resources are very effective for children.
Advertisement, decoration, party bags, everything makes a difference and can be useful in achieving the desired outcome. Plan your actions in advance and always do your best. May God bless the children and the families involved in this project!
