West-of-Ireland Prayer Breakfast

West-of-Ireland Prayer Breakfast

West of Ireland Ladies gather at a popular hotel for a prayer breakfast.

Ladies attending Seventh-day Adventist churches in the West of Ireland held a slightly more decadent meeting than their normal practice would be when they met at a posh hotel, The Inn at Dromoland, for an afternoon tea on 25 November.

The event, organised by Women’s ministry leader for Newmarket Church, Lilian Mlotshwa-Cooper, was not only about limitless plates of sandwiches and sweets, but it was an opportunity to connect with each other and with friends of the church in a relaxed and intimate way. Twenty-six women from Galway, Cork, Tralee, and Newmarket-on-Fergus were in attendance, keeping the hospitable hotel staff running to-and-fro to refill cups of tea.

Two speakers added some spiritual food and brain food for the day as well. Suelyn Olaleye spoke about early detection of breast cancer. Joan Lawrence gave a spiritual reflection entitled, “Fill my cup.” Each lady who attended left with a printed mug saying, “Fill my cup Lord”.

Lilian Molotshwa-Cooper says, “The day was beautiful and all that we hoped it would be. It was an ideal opportunity to make new friends. This is going to become a regular event on our district calendar.”
