Children at Cork Seventh-day Adventist Church Are Reminded To Be A Light in the Darkness

On a bright Sabbath, 1st of November, the Cork Seventh-day Adventist Church was filled with joy and light during a special event dedicated to children. The theme of the day, “Be a Light in the Darkness,” reminded the little ones that they can bring hope and kindness wherever they go.

The afternoon began with a cheerful children’s lunch at the church, where the little ones shared homemade dishes with one another, setting a joyful and thankful tone for the day ahead.

After the meal, the group visited the city’s fire station, where the children wanted to express their gratitude to the firefighters for their courage and dedication. They prayed for their safety and blessing, sang songs, offered handmade posters with Bible verses and messages of encouragement, and left symbolic gifts – missionary books and a cake decorated with a firefighter design.

This visit was an emotional experience, teaching the children gratitude and respect for those who risk their lives in the service of others.

Back at the church, the program continued with a joyful evening gathering filled with games, contests, and small gifts for the participants. The highlight of the program was the seminar “Be a Light in the Darkness,” where the children discussed the meaning of Halloween and how Christian children can choose Christ’s light instead of the world’s shadows.

The evening ended in a cozy atmosphere with a Christian cinema held in the church. The children watched an inspiring movie, enjoyed popcorn and snacks, and spent meaningful time together, building beautiful friendships.

The event was truly a celebration of faith and pure joy, showing that when children learn to be a light, the world around them shines brighter.
