Belfast Church hosts Vegetarian Cookery Demonstration Classes
After months of anticipation, Belfast Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted its much-awaited Vegetarian Cookery Demonstration this March: a vibrant celebration of culinary innovation and community spirit. The idea had long been discussed, and this year, it finally came to fruition thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of our church family. Volunteers eagerly stepped forward to share their favourite recipes, and the event was promoted far and wide through social media, word of mouth, colourful flyers and banners.
Every Thursday evening throughout March, from 19:30 to 21:00, the church was filled with laughter, camaraderie and the tantalising aroma of home-cooked delights. Each session saw 2–3 volunteers take centre stage, demonstrating a selection of mouthwatering vegetarian recipes. Attendees spanned all ages, from seasoned cooks to enthusiastic beginners, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Guests from the local community joined us, and on the fourth night, everyone received a complimentary recipe book, an exciting keepsake.
The event proved to be much more than just a cookery class. It was an opportunity to connect, learn new skills and celebrate the joys of healthy eating. Mutsa and Alice delighted everyone with freshly prepared drinks and homemade lemonade, adding a refreshing touch to each gathering. All recipes were compiled and shared weekly in handy booklets, ensuring everyone could continue their culinary adventures at home.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Frances and her dedicated team of volunteers: Patrinne, Tisereh, Mutsa, Alice, Karen, Joy, Thea, Clementina, Shannon, Caroline and Pastor Todd. Their creativity, hard work and warmth made the cookery school a resounding success.
