Pastor Jeff and staff continue to welcome youth from all over the Irish Mission for our annual youth events. On the weekend of 18 to 20 November 2022, youth aged 9 to 17 attended our youth weekend in Belfast Seventh-day Adventist church. We had over 55 youth register, which was amazing to see. We were blessed with special messages throughout the weekend by Pastor Steven George, who came all the way from Essex, UK.
The youth arrived on Friday, 18 November, in the evening. It was great for the staff to see the excitement when the youth arrived and how much they were looking forward to this weekend. Upon arrival, the fantastic kitchen staff served dinner, and shortly after, we all gathered together for a sabbath sunset worship. The weekend theme was 'Identity in Christ', which also spoke a powerful message to the youth and all staff.
Our guest speaker, Pastor Steven George, offered inspiring messages and took the time to get to know our youth and staff. The youth spent much time with him and got to know him better as a friend.
Pastor Jeff led the morning after-breakfast sabbath school for the youth. After Sabbath School, the young people joined the Belfast church members for the main service. It was a blessing to see how full the church was on such a lovely day. They provided us with lunch after the service. The youth had the opportunity for a little break to chat, spend time together and continue to build the many friendships that had blossomed. After sunset worship, the youth were very excited to on their way to go Ice Skating and Bowling. The young people were excited to put their skates on and have fun. It was such a great bonding time for all ages as well as for the staff. After coming back in the evening, the youth were treated to a movie night and then it was bedtime to make sure everyone got a good night's sleep.
Sunday morning was the final day of our weekend, and our weekend was sadly ending. Everyone started packing up and getting ready to leave. Before leaving, we had a lovely breakfast and our last worship service with everyone together.
We look forward to the new year that we will enter very soon and cannot wait to see all the youth again.
