Exciting Opportunity for Partnership in Mission: Irish Mission & Central California Conference

Mission is seldom done in isolation. Partnering with likeminded people increases the prospects of reaching wandering souls for salvation. Moses worked closely with Aaron and Paul partnered with Barnabas. Jesus’ disciples were sent into mission two-by-two. Following these Biblical examples, the Central California Conference (CCC) has offered the Irish Mission the rare and exciting opportunity to partner in mission for one year. The principle is simple: each Irish Mission (IM) congregation is invited to prayerfully identify nurture and mission needs and make them known to the CCC. Our ‘sister’ Conference will then seek to pair IM and CCC congregations where the CCC members will consider the needs and then address them in three ways: (1) prayer, (2) in-person involvement, and (3) financial support. After a number of meetings with the IM pastoral team, Nelson Ernst (CCC project coordinator), Pr Dan Serns (CCC President) and Pr Dan Serb (IM President), and a vote of support by the IM Executive Committee, all IM congregations are invited and encouraged to meet and, under the guidance of their local pastor, compile a list of needs which will then be sent off to CCC.

What happens next? Any and all information shared with CCC by the Irish churches regarding their mission opportunities and needs will be shared directly with the CCC churches that are interested in partnering with that particular Irish point of influence. Moreover, CCC proposes that during April 15-22, 2023 there be a joint effort where CCC church members would come and help execute an outreach-focused reaping event in up to 10 Irish churches that are desirous of participating. Such interest needs to be registered with CCC via the local church pastor and it can include public meetings, health expos, literature distribution, etc. CCC commits to provide a small amount of financing to help those churches with their advertising budgets and then will work to have CCC church members come out and help to make the 10 events happen.

We wish to thanks CCC for their generous offer for service and we look forward to the Lord’s blessing on this cooperation. May the Holy Spirit partner with us all, “for we are all God’s fellow workers” (1 Corinthians 3:9a).
