Reaching to those in need

Reaching to those in need

This got me thinking: imagine if every neighbour in my whole estate had my contact number then they would be able to reach out if they needed anything. Even for just a chat or a prayer request.

The idea came to me when a parent of one of my students contacted me to ask if I knew where to find masks. I told her I will look around and let her know as soon as I find anything. So the next day I went for a walk and found the masks in our Chinese shop at the end of our village. I went to her house the next day to drop it at the door. She was very happy because her eldest son is very high risk due to type 1 diabetes.

This got me thinking: imagine if every neighbour in my whole estate had my contact number then they would be able to reach out if they needed anything. Even for just a chat or a prayer request.

So we jumped into action and made up little cards with our info and my children posted it through every letterbox.

We have already had 5 responses from different neighbours. They were very encouraged by it and touched by the idea.

Every time I get a response I save the number and use the opportunity to send encouraging messages. I hope that nobody will be on their own struggling, but will reach out if they need anything. We pray that God will bless this venture!
